Deep water Candy Basslet

Nope! Yellow assessor was more timid than a RG but they both make themselves known once established. Yellow assessor is one of my favorite semi cryptic fish.
Well so u mean i can still recognize the fish every single day in a...125 gal ?

My royal gramma is always out. Great fish esp for the price

i have an 80 gallon and sometime next week i will be getting a mated pair of candy basslets. don't ask on the price or where i got it from. its from a local LFS and they are giving almost wholesale price.......let's just say that i will be getting both for under $1000!!!!!!!!!!!

when they settle in i'll see if i can get a photo posted here.

yep and not the swissguard basslet. it will be my most expensive fish in the tank. my only issue is that i do not have extensive rock work in the tank. but i do have plenty of rock with arches for them to swim thru. i made make rock work using marco rock using NS aquascaping.

so i'm sad the wholesaler sold the mated pair before my LFS could order it. so i have just one coming. gonna pick it up in a few days........so excited!!!!!!

the only thing is is that i have a 80 gallon glass tank. i hope it does not find a spot way in the back of the tank to call home. i want to be able to see my most expensive fish.....ya know!!!!!

I have a swalesi and he like to hide most of the day. Will see him during feeding and he sometime pops in and out of rocks

A fish that gets a max size of 2 1/2” for up to 1000 dollars better be waiting at the door with my slippers when I get home from work.

Any difficulties feeding these fish? Do they easily get lost in a larger tank? And what’s their lifespan like?
I have an 80g tank that's 36x30x18" with two main nsa rock formations with a few large pieces of live rock. First few days so far he found a spot towards the from of the tank. But this morning he was not there. Hopefully I'll see him later when I get home for work

....... So yes it will depend on how your tank is designed. Of you have lots of rock ....... They will hide.

Of you want a fish that is out and swimming i would pass on candy basslet.
My Helfrichi is a great fish!
