Defective dosing head? - Reef Factory KH Keeper Plus

Hi Reefers,

Today, i received a KH Keeper Plus from Reef Keeper and although the device appears to function just fine, one of the dosing heads does make a rather odd sound as you can hear in the video attached.

Here’s what i have tried to rectify the issue:

1. Disassemble the dosing head and realign the tube
2. Apply a tiny bit if vaseline to the rollers
3. Run the motor with no dosing head attached - No noice observed

While the unit seems to be working just fine, i do worry about excessive wear on the motor driving the dosing head.

Any advice on what i can do to rectify this? I will off course contact the seller should i not be able to fix this.

Can you replace the motor? Is budget an issue. Maybe see if amazon has a china knockoff you can stick in there. They all pretty much come there anyway.

It’s brand new, just taken out the box a couple of hours ago! If its not an easy fix; something i might have missed in the setup process it will be going straight back

Aye, and I don’t believe its the motor- there is no sound coming once i remove the dosing head..
