I just received a Profilux 4 mega set from Marine Depot yesterday and am having problems setting it up. The first thing that makes me wonder if this is a defective unit is that I was trying to do a system reset using the arrows/buttons on the Profilux. The menu keeps on cycling through quickly like it is stuck in a loop and if by chance I get it to stop by trial and error, I can't select the Yes option on system reset because that sub menu also does the flashing back and forth and then exits. Has anyone experienced this with the menu on the unit? Is there another way to to a factory reset?

Also, the redox sensor had leaked when I first opened the probe box and need to be exchanged for a new one. I haven't talked to anyone yet because it is the weekend. I bought this over Apex for the supposed quality but am starting think it was a bad choice.

By the way, the system reset was tried because I could not get it to connect to the WiFi network and then things got messed up and I can't even get the GHL hotspot to show up in the wifi options.

Have you been able to connect to it via your phone? If so did you do the calibrate key steps?

it under extra menu option when you use GHL connect: (Capacitive keys) this may address your front menu problem as it will recalibrate the menu keys for you.

if you did a full system reset reboot the unit again and wait a 10-15 seconds after the reboot and see if the hotspot reappears also.

No and now I can't connect. I tried doing something on the PC trying to reset it using GCC. Removed the Profilux, tried upgrading the firmware (it didn't need an upgrade). We are trying to fix it now using GCC and following a video on YouTube. I am taking a momentary break. I work with computers a lot but find this device exasperating. If I can get that far again I will look to see if that's an option.

You have definitely not made a mistake choosing GHL. I've no doubt it will get sorted out. Do make sure you look at the various videos that are available. Most issues turn out to be user error and I know this from my own silly errors. Often we are so excited to get some new equipment set up that we miss something that later seems obvious. Just take your time and go through the guidance available and use the support that you will get here and from the supplier and from GHL.

The Resource and Programming Guides on the GHL download page are also good resources.

Thanks for the help. I have made a little progress. Right now I have it hooked up to my PC with the USB cord and I changed the home network to one from my Netgear router and it shows up on the GCC communication tab as connected with 5 bars. I was previously trying to connect to my Comcast router, which is faster with a stronger signal, but it wouldn't connect. I had the same problem with a new Maxspect Gyre (still haven't figured out why).

Thanks to Ditto for the info on the extras option and calibration of the menu keys on the Profiluz. After a few attempts it worked and I can access the menu with no problem.

I can connect on my Android phone using the GHL Connect app but only if I am connected to the GHL hotspot. I can not figure out how to connect to the Profilux through my home network connection. After I have this figured out I have to move the Profilux back downstairs to where the tank is. I brought it up to my main desktop PC to do this after being frustrated trying to do it on the laptop and away from my home network routers.

It does require a 2.4ghz radio, something that can be overlooked.

I think both networks are 2.4. I was able to connect my Kessil wifi dongle to the Comcast router network and that requires a 2.4 signal as well. Someday I will have to spend time figuring that out. RIght now, I would be happy to be able to access my Profilux on the definite 2.4 network that does show as connected in the GCC program on my PC.

I was able to set up a Myghl account and connect to the device over the cloud without the USB cable attached so I guess it is connected to the home network now. So I just have to figure out how to connect to the Profilux on my home network through the MyGHL Connect android app.

I think I have it connected to my network now. Couldn't explain the steps but it happened! Referenced the GHL Connect App YouTube video. Tomorrow have to connect the Powerbar and probes, and calibrate the probes.

I moved the Profilux 4 down to the sump room this morning and now the looping menu problem is back :( This time calibrating the touch keys is not working.

I spoke with Vinny this afternoon. It turns out the factory put the wrong power supply in the box. He is sending me the correct power supply that has filtering so the menu behaves.

After doing some more trouble shooting it appears the interference source with the Profilux 4 menu is our Abyzz A200 return pump. I hope the new Profilux power supply cord/brick fixes the issue because the Abyzz is not going anywhere :) Should receive the new power cord/brick Thursday.

The new power supply fixed the interference issue. Profilux probes are now calibrated. Still a lot to learn!

You will love it eventually. It just has a steeper learning curve than Apex. With more use you will become more familiar with things.

Well, that's a positive step forward. Still trying to wrap my head around them sending the wrong power supply with the unit. That is just wrong on so many levels

The original power supply worked if my Abyzz return pump was plugged directly to a wall outlet. When the Abyzz was plugged into my battery backup the Profilux 4 had interference and the controls on the P4 would not work. It took me a few days of trying different power plug location options before I figured out the exact configuration and device that was causing the interference. (not the greatest introduction to a new product :) The new power supply has better filtration but it still looks like a cheap power supply brick from China. The Abyzz is on the battery backup mainly to protect the Abyzz controller from any weird voltage variations since we also have a whole house generator.
