IRS tax code seems fairly broad on the subject, but what associated with a fish tank could be a "furnishing"?

I'm assuming the tank, stand, and canopy. But what of the light? pumps? sump? rock? filter media? tools required for upkeep?

It's probably safe to say fish, inverts, coral, and algae are not "furnishings".

"furniture, fittings, and other decorative accessories, such as curtains and carpets, for a house or room."

My husband and I were just talking last night, about if we could possibly write off some of the tanks costs. We have a business and have clients come to the house regularly. Would be awesome if we could.

I think some can be a business expense. Not sure the criteria though.
