Definitely Not A Yoda

I bought these zoas as ‘Yoda’ a while ago. Now that the polyps are adult and popping babies I’m 100% sure they’re not yoda. Can anybody tell me what they may be? Thank you! Pics taken in blue light with an orange filter, color is very close to real life.

Not a bad guess! The skirt on thermospheres look a little more green and mine lack the red specks in the center. Maybe if the color develops further?

They somewhat look like yodas to me color might show better when they get use to your tank and lights.. but they do resemble yodas to me I’m no expert and I’m sure someone will say different

The only part that makes them not look like Yodas is the lack of yellow around the mouth, but it looks like that may be coming in. They may look more like Yodas over time.

I could be way off, though. There’s definitely less yellow on the face than a typical Yoda.

That’s my thought on it, yoda typically have a very noticeable yellow/green area around the mouth and these clearly lack it. I waited until the polyps started to produce babies before posting about it cause I thought the color may develop but it never has.

I believe mid tricks have a red/pink center? These are definitely blue with a yellow skirt

Yes they do but when they aren’t colored up it can be pretty pale and look close to yours. It’s probably not it but the yellow skirt looks really similar. They are definitely nice and a unique zoa either way. I’m curious and hope you figure it out.

Truer words have never been spoken.... the amount of zoas that have morphed in my tank is ridiculous! Really cool to watch though . Currently I’m keeping the tank in pretty low nutrients since there’s an algae outbreak so maybe it will color up after I bring nutrients up? I don’t know!

After a long search on Zoabrary, I think the closest match is Blue Alien ******? But those don’t have the green specks that mine do and they have a brown lower skirt whereas mine are yellow through and through

My zoanthids change color all the time, It could be one of the zoas listed but mabey doesn't look exactly the same

If it never really matches anything, I would name it. Maybe Phantasms.
