I went into our second room which has about 40-50 gallons worth of fish water in it. Felt really humid so I was thinking of getting a dehumidifier for my computer and stuff not to be saturated in high humidity.

Anyone have one? Or recommend one? Idk what our humidity is but I'm in Southern California so it's drier to begin with.

!st get a hydrometer to see where you are at, Walmart has ones that I use that has temp and humidity. Thing about humidifiers, some are loud and put off heat. I use this stuff called damprid and a fan to suck the more humid air out of my office. Running over 300g open top but in Las Vegas so it ends up being pretty nice.

I have numerous tanks and run a dehumidifier all winter long. There is no such thing as a quiet and effective dehumidifier, it's either one or the other. Pick one that meets the square footage of whatever size your room/house and run it 24/7

If you can vent the room with a centrifugal fan you likely wouldn't need a Dehum for a system of the size you describe. Not to mention dehumidifiers tend to demand a lot of wattage.

Our house is small (800 sq ft). So I was thinking of getting a 40-50 pint. Then hopefully it would be set to turn off when it reaches say 40%.

Thanks for the heads up on the noise.
