Question. I have a tank with NPS corals so my twice daily feedings are heavy. Once my return pump turns on after feeding, my skimmer goes crazy with all the powder and liquid food in the water and pulls it all out. I want the foods to circulate for a while before the skimmer does its thing.

So, does anyone know of a timer / smart outlet that I can use to auto shut off the skimmer for an hour or two after feeding? Similar to the pause button on my Varios pumps. I have it on a manual on / off switch but I’m bound to forget to turn it back on and want an easier solution.

I think it can be done with an Amazon smart outlet, but I’m not finding a clear answer yet and was wondering if anyone has a setup like I’m looking for. TIA.

This timer would wok
I used it to turn on/off my Reefbrite
The problem with skimmer turn on/off may affect ATO level

You can use Countdown Timers. I have used them for one year now. After setting my program for the countdown, every time I use amino acids I just press a couple buttons and it will turn off for 1 hour and will turn back on automatically. Then it will be on until i press the countdown button again.

Thanks for both of your replies. Madlos123, I think that is what I’m looking for.

May be more than your wanting to spend.

Edited....Nevermind, that one only works for 5 minutes. I have my apex programmed to delay my skimmer startup.
