Delays using Fed ex

you should check the weather reports from their hub locations in Indy and Memphis before shipping with fed ex. I know I checked and saw that there were some heavy thunder storms last night. All carriers are alike as they all suffer from weather related and mechanical failure delays. you just have to try and anticipate it, avoid bad weather or shield yourself by shipping with extra water. And then something can still go wrong because of human error, like the couriers that throw packages over fences, lol.

I haven't had any problems with fed ex until yesterday. I was supposed to have some anemones delivered. It was raining a little so it got delayed which i expected. Checked the tracking and it said it was delivered so I checked outside, instantly new what happened. They got the wrong house. I tried to call to let them know what had happened with hopes of getting the package before the nems die but only was able to talk to a stupid robot that kept saying it was delivered. Right now they are in a box somewhere dead. Very upsetting.

That stinks man, sorry to hear.
Luckily I've not had a problem with either. I get shipments from both pretty early, but being 20 min from the UPS world hub, I've received overnight shipments from Pacific Island Aquatics at 7:47AM before, haha.

We have only experienced a delay a couple of times and it was due to bad weather.

Had one yesterday. Was priority overnight before 10:30, showed up late afternoon.. FedEx claimed a weather delay so refund on shipping was void.Maybe it was truly a weather delay, maybe not. Seems like a convenient bail out for them to use at their leisure though

Just an FYI, I know people that are drivers for both and I learned it is very common for FedEx to do "phantom drops" where they say they delivered a package when in fact they never even drove down your street. I had this happen to me twice with livestock, second time it happened I had a security camera setup at my door and was at home waiting for the package. I kept checking online and it went from "Out for delivery" to "delivered to customer" and the truck never even went down my street (dead end street, it was hard to miss the sound of a delivery truck). After the second time in a month and complaining about it both times (both times I was given the excuse "the driver must have dropped it off next door", the second time I emailed video with a time stamp to the supervisor and the driver was fired (the driver had received a lot of other complaints regarding the same thing, I was the first one to provide proof that at the time the driver said it was delivered he was never on my street).
FedEx and UPS have very different rules they go by, UPS is much more strict about making sure deliveries happen as promised (there are always bad apple drivers, but UPS seems to weed them out much better than FedEx), although there is always the possibility of things happening out of their control (weather).

Omg dude that's the meanest thing. The box even has a pic of a monitor on it. What a jerk. Good thing I didn't order anything that wasnt bubble wrapped or fragile for that matter.
