Deltec CR Twintech 1500 thoughts and review

Ok considering getting this unit what would be the best regulator to get should I get the Tunze Dual Stage CO2 Regulator or something else?
Also what media is best to use that could be ordered easily ?
Do most recommend and reactor going thru sand/crushed coral to bring ph up?
Total noob in CA reactors always used triton 4 part or 2 part. I also was thinking to order spare pumps just incase would really hate to wait for replacement parts.
anything else I should consider?

Thanks in advance

Hello, one question please. I switched from Triton to Ca reactor Deltec Twintech 1500 with Kalkwasser and the readings fluctuate a lot. KH started at 9. here it was stable for a few days then increace up to 11, here I reduced the reactor dose from 35 liters to 28. Still going up to 12 then the value went down. At KH 9 I wanted to stabilize it and when it dropped below 9, I increased the dose to 30 but KH still decreasing, I increased dose to 33L and it is still decreasing. Now KH is 7.4. Aquarium 1000L SPS/LPS. Thank you

I feel your pain. I have the Aquarium Engineering ARC that went out of business so I bought the Deltec Twintech 1500. I have never been able to get it to keep my Alkalinity stable. I have been trying for months. I give up and go back to the ARC. Then I try it again and same thing happens. I even tried using the night mode and shutting it down at night but that didn't help. You can buy the night mode adapter here for $11.00 dollars instead of $50 if you want to try that.

There is some talk about it here.

The skimmer has a separate dedicated port for Ozone on the Venturi and the generator says no air pump required

When this happens to me it usually means there is no efflent flow. Clogged line / pump or faulty check valve. My pump is in a filter sock and I bought a glass ball check valve which has helped avoid those annoying issues.

Thanks FishTruck, I will definitely look into pump. Didn't even think of that. Does yours deliver much slower when you manual cycle it on a higher number? I.e I select 100 then manual cycle it the delivery is much slower than if I had it set on 20.

I did replace the one way valve as the supplied one was completely blocked so I think the one I have is ok but I'll double check

Return hose I kept out of the sump from day one. However I notice when it does deliver the effluent I end up with a pocket of air in the top of the reactor where the effluent comes out of, is this normal?
I missed this... the higher you set the daily flow... the SLOWER the 1 to 99 countdown will go

yes, the 1 to 99 is a % of the water dose. The flow rate from the pump is fixed - so setting it higher means the pump must run longer to deliver the higher dose of water.

This is counterintuitive and had me flummoxed at one point trying to figure out if my plumbing was clogged.

Got an update about the feed pumps. For the price they charging and use cheap jeabo pumps
Is pretty disappointing. Instead of something more reliable.

Hello Toly,

The reason I ask what version of the feed pump you have is that there was a recent upgrade between last year and this year to the 1.3v. I do not see a record of an account tied to this email that purchased a unit that was sourced from our US facility.

I will explain your options regarding a Deltec sourced feed pump for your CRTT.

We no longer sell the 1.2v of the feed pump since the upgrade. This is why it is permanently out of stock.

The 1.3v feed pump must be used with the new 1.3v controller since the electronics of the pump have been moved to the controller housing to prevent overheating. The retail disparity between the pump as an individual item, and the controller with it would go from $80 to a $400 purchase.

It is likely you still have the 1.2v since this was a recent change.

I am sure there are pumps with similar specifications that can replace the 1.2v but I simply do not have anything other than the incoming 1.3v and controller 1.3v to provide. Jebao made our previous versions so they could likely help with finding a similarly rated pump.

I have a shipment from our manufacturer expected to arrive in 6-8 weeks that will include the upgraded equipment. I can add you to the list if you would like.
