Deltec dumping their skimmer pumps?

If so not before time as I have always thought moving from the reliable German Aquabee pumps to the god dang awful Jebao pumps was a backward step. No surprise if they are using Abyzz pumps on their new (not so new design) skimmers. The reliability of the modified Jebao has been awful and I have always believed the introduction on these controllable pumps was a backward step gimmick of a step. I have also heard if you have a Deltec skimmer with one of the Jebao pumps you won't be able to buy a replacement when it fails, not sure if that is true or if the new pumps will fit the previous Deltec skimmers as a direct replacement. What do people know?

I'm not going to pretend like I have worked out their market research, but I would assume a price tag like this puts the vast majority of reefers out of this purchase. You can buy a Royal Exclusive for half that amount; can Deltec really claim that this skimmer works twice as well?

It sounds like just that particular skimmer has the abyzz pump, I would expect the rest of the product line to remain as is. And I believe their ac version is Deltec made. Unless there is more info other than that article that you are going off of. I’d be interested to know as a Deltec skimmer is in the plans for my tank.

A: By pairing/bundling it with another very expensive item.

$4000 for not so large skimmer from Deltec and suddenly all the other options look super cheap in comparison.

I can get a Ferrari and put a 30 million dollar jet engine on it; but I would be willing to wager not everyone is willing to by my now 30.2 million dollar car.... or is it an airplane at that point? LOL
