Deltec vs Dastaco?

No Aquarium Engineering ACR as a choice? Or did you rule that one out?

I have the Deltec Twin Tech 1500 and it’s very simple to setup and operate .

You basically just press a button to alter the flow rate and thats about it. The concept is very simple and the computer controls the rest, but it’s not cheap.

Its very well built as well as is most Deltec equipment

I myself am also facing this decision, to include aquarium engineering. I’m also considering if I buy a larger reactor knowing that I will be converting a 300 freshwater aquarium to saltwater in the future. Currently running 100 gallon, so the reactor size jumps up considerably. I always go by the buy once, cry once philosophy. Ugh decision.

I currently run a Deltec Twin Tech 1500. Ran a Geo prior with Masterflex pump and Carbon Doser regulator. Cost wise I think similar give or take a hundred bucks or so. Deltec is much more compact and easier to adjust which for me is nice. I wanted a Dastaco originally but When I was in the market could not get my hands on one. Personally I’d say either Deltec or Dastaco would be good. Dastaco has been around a good amount of time with many European customers with great success and Deltec has also a good following with Deltec USA available if help is needed.

I am currently running a second hand reef octopus, with carbon fiber and kamoer...works great but I do adjust my flow based on my electronic tests. Do you adjust the flow on either of these????

Basically if your alkalinity needs increase you increase effluent drip or flow with one touch of a button/ dial. Calcium automatically adjusts. Need less alkalinity needs, turn down effluent drip/flow.

Love my Deltec Twintech!!! As alk consumption climbs just up the litres of effluent per day with the touch of a button. Litres per day of effluent is displayed on the controller with an up and down button to adjust it. About the only other thing you have to set on the controller is the automatic degassing interval which they suggest be once per day.
