They are one of the most effective ive seen and some are hit and miss but for most part the destruction crew for aptasia

Will they eat coral and are they safe from a melanarus wrasse?

yeah, what happens after the aiptasias are gone? that seems to be the most important question for any of the aiptasia destroying orgainisms

How many would you recommend for a 50 gallon tank, with a decent size infestation of about 30+ aiptasia?

Another question I have that I have asked a berghia breeder is when the aiptasia are being eaten by the shrimp, will they not release spores causing a bigger outbreak? The berghia breeder told me when they are being eaten by the berghia they are unaware so they do not release spores. Is this the same case for the shrimp?

Hey all, I ordered two of these Kukhenthal shrimp for an aiptasia problem in my sump. These shrimp are amazing. I can’t find any aiptasia in my sump after two weeks. Absolutely incredible additions and highly recommend to others.

They’ve been with my soft corals for a month without issue. Scoly, Zoa, Acans, and a trachy. I doubt they would be an issue with SPS
Thanks, my tank is mainly lps. Would a melanarus wrasse be an issue?

melanarus are hit or miss. The one positive is that these shrimp are hidden during the day and nocturnal, so the chances of a run-in with your wrasse would be smaller in my opinion. With how effective these shrimp can be, I think it’s worth the risk.

Are these larger than the normal peppermint shrimp?

Will they eat palys and zoas?
