In the planning stages with all the trial and error we've been through finally figured out good laminar flow for these corals. A bowfront 46 gallon tank, the bowed side will be the back, the back will be the front. Already drilled two holes one for pump suction the other for pump discharge. Stay tune

Used ozone for 2-3 days, on 3rd day found 2 dendronephthya colonies deteriorating from base. Did more homework found out need air dryer, to prevent nitric acid build up in DT. Stop ozone use. Till I get silica for removing moisture from air.

Well, tomorrow going to check on the children of the sea. Especially the little yellow sun Coral polyps. Now I feel like a farmer, I'm waiting for my crops to grow or I may lose them, time will tell. Only one dendronephthya colony is surviving, notice I didn't say thriving.

1 left, hardy one, I got sick fir 4 1/2 weeks and this effected them, and tinkering with ozone. Lost 9 dendronephthya Roxasia , Southern Philippines ?, hardy is dendronephthya rubeola from Vietnam? More steps to end results. It's a challenge.

I know you've stated before you purchase most of your corals from a wholesaler in your local area. How about some of these other corals? Are you getting the Papua New Guinea and Florida ones from them as well? Been searching for a reliable supplier of soft corals for awhile.

I might of word it wrong, on the Papua New Guinea corals, they're opening up for corals & fish. The Biota Aquariums, waiting on them for an account. Thanks for following, comrade

My homemade canister filter sprang a leak a week ago, when I found out half the tank empty of sw, effected some of my children of the sea. Most I hope recoup. Took 4 days to drain to half.

I thought all countries were part of CITES treaty , Im trying to secure some dendronephthya colonies.
Here's email from Kenya Marine Center. Learned something new.

Hi Joseph,

We have not sent dendronephthya colonies to the U.S. This is because to my understanding it requires CITES certificate to import soft corals same as hard corals.

Unfortunately our country is not a signatory with the CITES body so we can't get a CITES certificate for export.

So we sell our soft corals to Europe and Asia where there is no need of CITES certificate

But what I suggest is that you confirm with fisheries and wildlife if you need CITES certificate to bring them into the U.S

I am saying this because we sent some soft corals to Miami some time back and all the requirement was that the base rock not to be a certain percentage (I can't remember now, I am sorry)

If not, I will be happy to ship them to you. We have no waiting list for them.

For anyone interested, one can import, small amount of corals, maybe once a year, for personal use . No importers license needed.
