Denitrator

Well wanting to make a switch from dosing vinegar to setting up a denitrator. Just not sure where to start. I was thinking about using an old NextReef MR1 Media reactor that I have laying around, but don't know if it'll work.

Any ideas? I think it'll work since it is a reactor so could be a rhetorical question. Sometimes you need a little confirmation, . Right now I have chaeto in my sump, but tired of pruning it and I want to use that compartment for some LPS.

I have a 240G, tested nitrates yesterday and I got 100ppm (which I think may be a higher than it really is - don't like the color testers and my pinpoint needs a new probe). This is more of me doing something than an absolute necessity. Here is a video from 4 months ago:


Crazy looking back on some of the coral in the tank and seeing how much they have grown in the past 4 months. Not all are growing at the same rate, but definitely have good growth.
