Hi all,
I have an 80 gallon reef, it's an ULNS. I've never had a nitrate or phosphate reading and I test frequently. My parameters are KH 7 Mg 1350 Ca 450 and as I said, zero N and P. I use salifert tests.
The main problem is GHA or Derbesia now, as some say. I also have Dino but is controlled. I have the form that's only on sand and less toxic: amphidinium. My acroporas started to pale. So, I think I need to raise my nitrates my plan is to raise to 2ppm. I bought flourish nitrogen and started to dose Reef energy as well daily.
My doubt is: raising nitrates can control the Derbesia? Or I will feed them more?
I used algaefix in the past, it will solve but I want to avoid chemicals. My chaeto died as well with algae fix. I'm considering fluconazole...but Idk.
Any thoughts? Tks in advance. Pictures attached below.
