I love browsing sites where I can custom build a tank to my specifications...Choosing colors, stands, dimensions, etc. For 5 or 10 minutes I'm in heaven until I get to the price quotes. :hammer: Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to hear what other people's dream tanks would be like.

Mine:

I'd love a custom starfire glass tank. 96x24x24 with steel braced wooden stand and canopy complete with beautiful molding in a cherry stain. Matching bookcase ends too. I'd want a euro-style brace if possible and a coast to coast overflow with a closed loop (and visit from the plumbing fairy). I'd like some of those fancy DJ power centers and a huge sump with room for all the gadgets. I'd love to have a light rail with 2 250's and 1 400 and a recirc bubble king skimmer along with a calcium reactor, ozone, denitrifier. I'd, of course, would have everything automated so I can take a vacation without too much worry.

Now if only I someone can foward this to my husband. ;)

I would need to have three dream tanks. The first would be an 8' x 3' x 3' fowlr tank for my aggressive fish, next would be a 6' x 2' x 2' sps tank, and the last would be 6' x 2' x 2' lps/zoa/paly tank. :)

Nice! :)

That's a pretty big fowlr tank. What kind of fish would need that kind of room? Speaking of which, I wouldn't mind a tank dedicated to angels which I always drooled over.

I would have 4 tanks. probably cement on 3 sides. all would be a 3hx6h6L. 1st would be a Discus, Arowana, planted tank. 2nd would be an African cichlid tank. 3rd would be reef with a lot of sps and caps and a sea of zoas. 4th would be a small community fresh tank. think thousand or so cardinals and such. true schools. and maybe a fowlr aggressive tank. They would all be along 1 wall with access to the back of the tanks. Pluss all the gadgets I would have displayed in a nice clean way in windows you can see in front.mmmmm

I would have one nice big acrylic cube tank, 36x36 by 12" tall. It would have external overflows on one side and would be viewable from 3 sides. It would never have any algae problems and everything would grow wonderfully. I would have full sized colonies of my favorite corals, setosa, superman, sunset, all kinds of beautiful zoas, and full sized colonies of both the pink and red watermelon chalices. As far as fish I'd have a picasso pair, a snowflake pair, mandarins, a leopard wrasse, lots and lots of gobies, and a mated pair of interruptus angels.

I have a pinktail trigger, zebra moray eel and a blue face angel. If I had a tank that size I would add a few more angels and a bunch of wrasses. It would be such a sweet looking tank!

maintenance free, and all the parameters stay in check. sorry for the bad spelling

If I ever win the lotto, I'll hook you guys up! :D

I love how everyone's is different and included the fish that they would like. LOL For me it's wrasses. Love them!

Chelsey, why only 12 inches?

I have always wanted to get a fiberglass shower stall and cment it into the basement wall (for support). Add a 6 foot tall piece of starfire glass for the front and the mother of all MH lights above the setup and I'd have a 6 ft tall by 4' by 4' aquarium. Huge water column for larger fish like tangs and an electricity bill to blow me out of the water. Oh well maybe Powerball comes through.

10' square (inside) with 4' thick tank (outside 18' sq.-viewable from both sides), ~36" high and runs the length of all four walls with an archway to connect them all and provide entrance. Everything PLC controlled with redundancies (multiple circuits to run lighting and pumps so if one goes down, something is running, etc.). Filtration in basement below tank. One of those egg space chairs from the 70's with built in speakers in the center of the room, and a skylight/moon light/retractable roof:).
