I like the pairs that you have. You can save a lot of electricity if you got rid of all of those individual tanks and built a little shelf system and tied all the tanks together.

A quick update: Today was water change day! 40g of salt/freshwater later, and the tank's SG have dropped a little. I am going to be lowering them to the 1.020 range. I'll be slowly doing this for the next 2 weeks, as to not shock them.

I keep the broostock tanks a little closer to 1.022 and the rots at 1.018. As long as the difference is less than 0.007 you shouldn't shock the rotifers too much!

Good to know, Jason! I'll even them out at 1.022. The Rotifers definitely need their's dropped, too. Much too high at 1.024! Do you feed your brood stock Rotifers as well?

I run my sg at 16ppt
15 hrs of light because that fits my schedule.
I would lower your roti sg down to about 11ppt

The reason for a lower sg is to oxygenate the water more at higher temps. The higher the temp the lower the o2 content. If you lower the salinity it allows for more oxygen in the water. It also keep disease in check.

Those metal racks you have , how sturdy are they??? was actually wnting to pickup 2 of those and use them as growout, but i opt for the walmart setups after all, whats your experience sofar with them??
