Determining high medium and low flow In ones tank.

What is the best way to determine what sections of your tank are high medium and low in terms of flow?

My favorite way is to use air bubbles to get a picture of the flow. Otherwise, I rely on my coral polyps. If polyps are being whipped, I consider that high flow. If they are moderately swaying and wiggling, I consider that medium. If they are just gently moving, I consider that low flow.
