Is it worth it to buy one of these. I currently use a dremel with diamond blades. Cheapest place to buy one? Free shipping? lmk. thanks, Frank.

I like mine except it lurches every now and then while cutting, still trying to fine tune how the blade rides on the wheels... It's way easier to frag and much less messy compared to a dremel.

A dremel is definitely messy and I heard about eh lurch. A friend was cutting for me and it jumped right as he was cutting. It went right through an eye but the frag still survived. With a dremel, I have an uneasy feeling I'm going to slice one of my fingers. Especially when trying to cut delicate areas and small chalices. I found one for 240 shipped but it's still a 10x difference in price from the dremel with diamond blade. Just trying to figure if it's worth it.

Bump. need some help on this guys. Is it worth it? I found a site that has it for 240 shipped. Can anyone do better or know of a better price or alternative? Thanks, Frank.

$240 shipped is a pretty good price. If you do a lot of fragging its a great tool to have, you can cut in between the polyps with practice which can increase survival rates and the amount you get per frag if selling.

Thanks again Dougers. I'll probably pick it up next week. I'm planning on a growout so I want to get the best possible cutting tool to help with the fragging.

I got a db100 from eBay it works like a charm I'm still not sold on the dfs myself I think it's a market ploy like anything else to raise the price and market us..... Just my 2 lol.... I paid 200$ shipped...From some stained glass company it was brand new in the box...

Everyone swears by the dfs but I've never heard of the dbs. What's the difference, besides the 40$? How much do you pay for your replacement blades Troy?

Not sure about the one Troy is talking about but I know the dfs has a plastic table as well as several other normally metal parts that are plastic.

The one thing about mine is that I requested a new top wheel since the original one seemed just a bit out of round. Still haven't figured out how to keep it from lurching here and there but its still waaayyyy better than using a dremel:)

My table is aluminum and has caused zero problems and still looks brand new like the day I bought it... Not really anything else metal but 2 brass thumbs screws on the front that don't get wet or even come close to a coral for that matter.... I personally dont know the differences but I read plenty of people using the db100 and I have brought it up on here a few times it works great zero issues I would spend the extra 40 on a nice coral lol.... Blade replacement I have no idea it came with 2 blades and I'm still on the first blade and going strong for a year now.... It's all about how nice you treat your equipment IMHO....

Two blades is a good deal... I know the blades for the dfs are around $70 and they only come with one...

Same machine different table. I got the plastic table with one blade, wish I would have got the aluminum table with 2 blades. The plastic table can be flimsy.

Db it is then. Thanks again Troylee and everyone else. 2 blades, $40 less and an metal table instead of plastic. Glad I came on here and asked. I think I can wait a couple of weeks for delivery.

After looking online and seeing your comments I'm convinced you are 100 percent accurate with the above statement.

Lol. Tried to give you some good reputation Troy but it told me I have to spread the good reputation to someone else before I give you another. Just goes to show how many times you've helped me out
