Hello Everyone, After about 3 years with my small frag of DFS Pink Panther that I had acquired from Adam at Battlecorals, I noticed something strange tonight while I was observing my tank.
I then got a closer view of it and saw that it had a several green streaks in the middle of my frag.

Has anyone noticed this occurring on their Pink Panthers, or is this a graft that occurred in my system?
Thanks for viewing.

Can't see it, but maybe you need to lighten up the pic.

Never mind, I see it on my computer now. (was on iPhone) very cool!

That looks cool I don't have it to say if it's common or not but definitely see what you're talking about. The color he's asking about is between the vertical growth n on the shortest branch n bottom branch.

Green in corals comes from higher nutrients in water from what I understand. Also some different spectrum of lighting can cause colors to shift on you. My old diys added hints of green to almost all my corals. At the same time I was a little higher on phosphates as well. Now with my kessils and lower phosphates the green streaks have gone away.

here is a brightened up picture and I also circled the area I was talking about, I don't think my lights caused this to happen, since I've had them for over a year now.

Not the same type of coral but a Red Planet will change green if it's not getting the right amount of light or the color spectrum is off. Is your PP maybe to far from the light? I have a Red Planet that I think I placed too far from the light and now it has turned green on me.

No I don't think so, the pink panther has been in this same spot ever since I've got it. Also I've been using this Radion schedule for a long time, it has always been happy, I just noticed that it looked weird last night and saw this.

Ok, Thanks Adam. Never knew the Pink Panther could get green in it. All the pieces I've seen seem they were solid pink.

I think its just in crevices for the most part but I did the same thing when i first saw it. was like WOW This is insane! But unless my original picked the graft up long ago I think its part of it naturally.

I haven't seen it extend beyond the nooks at all. But who knows, maybe you'll pull something farther. The patches on yours do look more pronounced then any that i have seen here:)

gotta love those pink polyps though! I have seen the pink get very soft blue in the at times as well on super happy new growth. That's when things get crazy!
