I,ve seen you have a gomezzi acro isn't it? Has it always been so blue? Mine was as blue as yours but it has lost its blue sky color and now it is not so brillant...hope I can recover that fantastic blue...i will be grateful any tip you can give me. Thanks!
I honestly can't decide if it's Tort of some sort or a Gomezi... It actually had some green to the center of it but then decided to turn completely blue. Sadly I think it grows about as slow as my Oregon Tort, possibly slower!

Or is that the true color of your corals?
If true colors, what aditives do you use to get such beautiful colors?

Those are the true colors, no fancy royal blue lighting or trick photography, I shoot all my photos in camera Raw then correct them in photoshop to show how they look to the naked eye. What you see in the photos is exactly what you'd see if you were standing in my living room.
I feed the corals every week a mixture of 7ml Seachem Fuel, 5ml of Oyster Feast and 10ml each of Red Sea Reef Energy A & B.
The fish are fed daily frozen Hikari Ocean Plankton which some of the corals pick up as well.
I honestly have no clue what the levels are like, I haven't tested No3 in probably a year or more, I did test the phosphates recently just because I was curious, the tank seems to be happiest maintained between .05-.08 on a Hanna HI 93713. I do test my Alk every other month or so but that's pretty much it.
I mainly rely on visual cues but for the most part I just stick to routine and schedule I've developed and the tank runs on autopilot I guess you could say. Twenty some odd years of doing this and you tend to know when things are happy and when they aren't.
What lighting do you use mate?
The tank is lit with an 8x54w ATI Powermodule, in the next few weeks I'll be adding another center section to the fixture to make it a 10x54. There's also a small little led strip I built on the front side of the fixture, it's mainly just for targeting specific low range UV spectrums and 3 white led's to add a little touch of shimmer.
Gorgeous reef thanks for sharing. Does your sand always stay like that? What percent do you run vortecs at? My tank is similar size with similar hardware and I can't keep my sand put. Thanks!
The sand does stay put for the most part, I found if I'm really careful with the pump placement I can keep from digging a hole in the center of the tank. I run all of the pumps at 100% in Reef Crest mode linked together, one side will run the front pump and the opposite side on the rear and vise versa.
Stunning tank!! Thanks for sharing! I assume you set this tank up in December 2014 and not December 2015? I love the simplicity of your sump and equipment. You have such deep, rich colors and zero algae! You certainly have the touch. Hope you keep this thread updated.
Thank you, you are correct the tank was setup in 2014, sure doesn't seem like it was that long ago. The tangs and other critters do a pretty good job of keeping things clean, I did have a little battle with Valonia for a bit but it's now 99% gone.
