I just realized my relatively new DI resin has totally expired.
The last batch of resin that I loaded in April did not change the color at all. It looked all blue even after three months. I got suspicious, took TDS readings, and found that RO reading was 11 and the reading after resin was 10. :faint2:
I bought a 1.5 gallon bag of DI resin back in January 2012 from BRS but did not open the bag until last October. BRS says that the normal shelf life is 2 years (unopened). October to April is only 6 months. I should have bought a few individual single charge packs instead , even though the unit cost is quite a bit more expensive than that of a 1.5 gallon bag :mad2:
Do any of you recharge DI resin yourself? I tried it before and found that it was more work than I care to do.
If you recharge your own resin, you can have the remainder of the 1.5 gallon bag. It's probably 2/3 full.
