Diabolic Pacman and RRUSA Pink Floyd??? Same?

So I've heard from a lot of different people that say these two corals are the same and some say they are different. I wanted to test it out to see if they are same species or not. I picked up a frag of Diabolic Pacman from Darrell at All Delight Corals a while back and it seems to be a very quick grower. I also picked up a piece of RRUSA Pink Floyd from Tony at RRUSA and it seems to be a lot slower grower for me. They look really similar.

Both of these corals are under 8 bulb Tek Light T5 (6 blue+, 1 coral+, and 1 purple+) and a Tech Blue Reef Brite strip:

I don't know for certain, but I would put my money on the same species. There's a lot of buying/trading that goes on with wholesalers and between wholesalers. Shipments come in from Indonesia and suddenly you start seeing a lot of the same things at different vendors. Two companies got a hold of the same species and slapped different names on them IMO.

I agree with Hugo, Diabolic Pacman makes a huge base and then throws out branches. My Pink Floyd from Tony, while throwing out a base, it grew in a much different way. I have the DPM in the exact same place as my old PF colony use to sit so I see a total difference in the growth between the two. Having said that, as the DPM has started to take off from its big base and throw out a bunch of branches, the color pattern is amazingly similar to the Pink Floyd. I'd say twin sisters without actually being the same. I cannot wait to see how this grow out goes. So curious!!!

Update: I've been having some alkalinity swings from 8 to 6 lately cause I'm trying to dial in my doser again. Long story short, the frag rtn'd. So here's the new frags:

That's not necessarily true. My DP colony grew into an Oregon Tort colony next to it and the 2 kind of grafted together.

Can't wait to see the results of this experiment. My guess is that they are different morphological representatives of a similar species

Did they graft or did the Diabolic grow over the OT?

I have a microcladas colony growing over/around/encompassing the Del Fuego next to it.

That's one heck of a post from SniperSPS, I thought his texting needing help but in comparison ........

Had both side by side and thought about this thread. Real deal RR USA Pink Floyd are the two frags in the back. Diabolic Pacman in the front. Both nice but I'd take pink floyd any day of the week.
