Dialing in Doser help

ok iam trying to dial my doser in I went from dry 2 part to oceans blend and kents tech mag
so here is my problem iam trying to find the best way to figure out what I should dose each day so trying to figure out my daily consumption a friend of mine told me to follow this type of formula

Ex. Day 1 calcium 450 Day 3 calcium 320 I dose 45ml to get out back up to 450 45÷3=15ml 15ml a day to dose 450-320=130 130÷3=43 43ppm is my daily consumption

now that formula worked great for cal and alk it seams as far as numbers go my mag on the other hand looks like this

current mag 1350
desired mag 1450
tells me to dose 892.3 ml to get it to 1450 now use this formula
892/3 days =297.4ml so all in all my question is why is mag saying to dose that amout each day sounds super high

tank is 165gal mixed reef over sized diablo skimmer and gfo reactor

current parmeters
cal 450
alk 9.5
mag 1500
sali 1.260

Why do you desire magnesium so much higher than the ocean? Even now it is higher than the ocean.

I personally wouldn't raise it at all.

It was recommended to be higher with cal and alk higher but very open to ideas I just want to get it dialed in right

Is the current magnesium 1350 ppm or 1500 ppm? The first post says both.

I discuss magnesium here, where I generally recommend 1250-1350 ppm, but higher is usually OK.

Current is 1500 because I followed chem calc to adjust and when I did that it took it up high

OK, then I'm confused,. The plan would be to add zero magnesium supplement until it drops back to wherever you want it (which will be driven by your salt mix and water changes more than demand).

All magnesium supplements take a large amount of material to boost magnesium levels significantly for a variety of reasons, not least of which is how much is normally in seawater.
