I have a 40B with a sicce 2.0 return pump and a eshops s internal overflow. I am struggling getting the right flow so the overflow isn’t noisy and the water line isn’t too low. I was able to get it quiet but my water line drops below my black rim. If I up the flow so my water line is above the black line I cannot get it quiet. I have been adjusting both the drain and return lines. Am I missing something else?

Thanks for the help!

Eshopps Eclipse overflows have very deep cut weir teeth. You are not alone in having the water line show below the black trim on rimmed tanks. A work around has been to bond a strip of acrylic to the lower part of the weir, thereby shortening the depth of the teeth so that the waterline is hidden by the tank trim.. Once that’s accomplished, it gives you the ability to adjust your flow to quiet the system down withought having to worry about the waterline showing.

Agreed. Only thing he’ll have to worry about is the event of the overflow getting clogged and overflowing his tank. I personally have my waterline 1/2 in below the rim just Incase

I ended up adding a piece of acrylic and only needed to seal off about 1/4” to get the level above the black trim. I bought a couple of nylon nuts and bolts from HD to hold it in place. Now I need to figure out how to quite down my pump. The vibration is the issue. I have the suction cup feet on it, using silicone tube to connect.

I presume you have done the three adjustment including the third one I initially forgot.

1) no flood power out.
2) normal operation returns when power returns.
3) simulate a blocked overflow and check the return pump runs dry before the display floods.

Just a thought.

worth at most .02

It won’t overflow with a power outage but if my gfci trips it will need to be reset. I haven’t tried blocking both my main drain and the emergency drain, but the emergency will handle the flow from my return pump ( I tested it). If both are plugged I don’t know if the main display will overflow before the return chambers runs dry? But my guess is it won’t.
