Diamond Goby and Pistol Shrimp?

Alright guys, so I thought I researched enough, and I got a small pistol shrimp today to pair up with my diamond goby. I just read that they're one of the gobys that will not pair with a pistol shrimp....

Is it even a possibility? I read a few people had gotten them to pair. Will the pistol be okay without a buddy? I'm asking because I don't like my inhabitants to be uncomfortable or at risk in my aquarium, so if it's a no go I'll find a way to catch him and bring him back to the fish store to find a more suitable home.

I've seen instances of diamonds pairing with randalli pistol. Hit or miss, apparently.

I know this is an older thread but I haven't seen my Yellow watchman for a while and also have a diamond goby that always stayed on the opposite side of the tank by himself. Today I noticed my diamond goby on the other side of my tank and hovering around a newly dug hole. Suddenly my tiger pistol shrimp came out of the hole a bit and my diamond goby went in with him. I don't know what happened to my Yellow Watchman but I believe my shrimp found a new lookout and partner in crime. Was looking up whether or not this was common and ran into this thread. Curious what happened with yours?
