Hello. I have a diamond goby which I've had for about a month or 2 now, and I noticed that he doesn't seem to be sifting through my substrate and eating like he used to. I'm not entirely sure why. He just seems to sit on the surface of the tank swimming around, but I haven't seen him sift through the substrate, and I'm getting concerned. Has anyone witnessed this before? What should I do?

Might need to spot feed food into the substraight around him for him to eat. I’ve read those are one of the harder gobies to keep and need to be spot fead.

Does he eat food when you feed the tank? Mine eats whatever I put in the tank.
I spot feed mine a small amount of small mysis with a turkey baster into the substrate around him. He’s learned the turkey baster means feeding time and swims right up to it now.

If you have a banded serpant star it’s a good way to make sure he has food to hunt out during the night as well.

Unfortunately when I woke up this morning I came down stairs to check on it, and it had died sometime early this morning I'm guessing. I had 2 of my peppermint shrimp trying to eat it. Thanks for the info. I'll give it another try soon. Thanks again.

I have 2 brittle stars. my substrate is crushed coral. I don't know how serpent stars would do with that kind of substrate.
