Last question on this topic: Realistcally, how long should I wait for things to get ‘better’. Now, he’s pretty much spinning in what seems like a panic.

This wont help now but when I QT fairy wrasses I have a special tank for them, its a 30g extra high. Wrasses have a tendency to shoot up in the water column when spooked and since transferring to this QT for fairy wrasses a spinal injury hasn't occurred again. I also spray paint all sides, except the front, black to reduce reflections. Food for thought in the future.

If you are doing TTM ever as well, I drain the water down to about 2 inches so they have less water to jump from. plus easier to catch.

If he is eating I would keep feeding him and just watch to see if it heals. Sucks nonetheless.

Really tough to say as I have not be successful with one that had this happen. Maybe others who were can chime in. I can say that I stuck it out for over 2 weeks each time basically hand feeding until I saw them literally now be able to move anymore.
