Was looking into getting a goby to help with sand maintenance in my 88g DT. Are there any major pros and cons to these two. Or are there others that people have found better?

People say diamonds are the best sand sifting gobies. I personally like the look of the golden heads. Both will be bothersome to corals on the sand bed. If that’s a concern, watchmen gobies won’t carry the sand they sift across the tank. I personally have a tiger watchman and 2 Randall’s shrimp gobies. The tiger Goby is a great eater with nice colorings.

I do like the look of the tiger, is he an active fish or does he hide in a burrow most of the time like some other gobies

The shrimp gobies usually get paired with pistol shrimp and will remain outside the shrimp burrow and keep “watch” for food or other fish. Pistol shrimp I believe are blind or have bad vision so the goby is it’s “eyes”. The tiger watchman goby is very active. At least the one I have is. There might be a regular tiger goby, but I’m referring to the tiger “watchman” goby. That’s the one I have.
