While feeding the critters tonight I noticed this raised dark spot on my diamond gobies tail. The white specs on it are sand I think. It is raised and looks more like a wound to me. No other spots anywhere on him or the other fish. Still eating like a horse and acting normal, all other fish normal also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hard to tell from your picture. But if it is a simple wound the treatment level starts with Epsom salt: 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of aquarium water. Repeat only once, if necessary.
If it is a bacterial infection, perhaps from a wound, the go to treatment is Kanaplex + Furan 2 + Metroplex

For clarification, epsom salt (USP grade, no lilac fragrance or other additives) can be dosed in the display, antibiotics require removal of the fish to a QT.

Epsom salt is composed of magnesium and sulfate. The recommended dosage will very slightly elevate the magnesium level in your tank which should not harm corals. However you may want to double check for particular corals that are sensitive to increased magnesium levels. Most reefers are worried about mag levels being too low and are at times, dosing to increase mag in the water column.

Thank you for the info

You are welcome and best of health to your goby. They are my favorite fish.
