My bio cube 29 has been up and running for around 3 months. Can there be a diatom bloom after mixing up the sand? I needed to take apart the tank to catch a bully fish which resulted in me stirring up the sand. Now I have a faint bloom on the sand. Does mixing the sand stir up silicates buried in the sand bed?

Your system is still very young. Be patient, give it some time. At only 3 months old, the system is by no means stable yet, blooms might come and go a few more times before it balances itself out. As long as you don't have algae issues, i'd just let the tank do its thing for now.

yes by most standards its still a very young tank. it will go through many phases. its best to keep your hands out of it, carefully feed and do w/cs
