Is it safe to leave it? I'm trying to follow good practice by quarantining everything to include inverts so I'm not bringing anything into the display.

Yup, it'll go away on its own, and yes ghost feed a little to keep the bacteria up

Thanks! I stare at the tank for hours throughout the day and this morning when the lights turned on I was excited to see something different going on haha.

I know how you feel! Don't be surprised if you see them come and go. Diatoms feed off of silicates, so anytime your sanded gets stirred up they'll usually pop up for a bit. Congrats on your tank being on its way!!

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out. I'm so ready to have some livestock in here to look at. The wife doesn't like that my 20g and 10g quarantines will have fish (20g) and corals/inverts (10g) while the 185g display sits here with water!

I just had my diatom bloom about a week in. Most of my tank is my old 30 gallon so moving a lot quicker . Can’t wait for my snails and shrimp

Do I need to do a water change after cycling even though fish won't be introduced for about a month? Or can I get away with doing the water change before I introduce the fish.
