Yup! It should die off on its ownIs it safe to leave it? I'm trying to follow good practice by quarantining everything to include inverts so I'm not bringing anything into the display.

And it will just disappear? Will ghost feeding the tank to keep my bacteria growing keep it growing?Yup! It should die off on its own![]()
Yup, it'll go away on its own, and yes ghost feed a little to keep the bacteria upAnd it will just disappear? Will ghost feeding the tank to keep my bacteria growing keep it growing?

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out. I'm so ready to have some livestock in here to look at. The wife doesn't like that my 20g and 10g quarantines will have fish (20g) and corals/inverts (10g) while the 185g display sits here with water!I know how you feel! Don't be surprised if you see them come and go. Diatoms feed off of silicates, so anytime your sanded gets stirred up they'll usually pop up for a bit. Congrats on your tank being on its way!!![]()
I bet. It really is exciting lol.I just had my diatom bloom about a week in. Most of my tank is my old 30 gallon so moving a lot quicker . Can’t wait for my snails and shrimp
