Diatom Filter

Where can I find a Diatom filter? Came up empty on amazon and the other few results seemed kinda shady.

Vortex was the aquarium brand, but I haven’t seen one in years. Assumed it’s discontinued. You may have to go with a pool filter. Hayward makes a smaller pool DE filter sold on Amazon.

A few years ago I called Innerspace Products after finding all suppliers listing as discontinued. They answered the phone and sent one right out. To try to make sure I would have one for life, about 3 years ago I tried that number and no one answered. I found that Bear Valley Aquatics sold them retrofitted with a more modern magnetic drive pump. I use this one frequently as it is much less noisy than the original motor. Bear Valley told me at the time that Innerspace still got them sporadically and he bought them as available. I just checked his website which said that he does not have any right now due to lack of supply secondary to COVID. It might be worth it to contact him and be added to a list. I have used Diatom filters since the late 1960s to polish water, they are wonderful. I have a Marineland diatom filter that hangs on the tank. It is handy for small tanks;it works well for 30 gallon and smaller. I think those are still available. I have both sizes of the original Vortex brand from Innerspace.
