Hi reefers,
Tank has recently finished cycling and diatoms started forming on the side of the tank that gets a little sunlight. I have my lights off. As expected nitrates are relatively high after the cycle (i used marco rock and live sand) I am planning on doing a larger wc before adding any livestock. Hopefully to reduce the nitrates to some extent. Is it a good moment to start a refugium ?
Should i brush off the diatoms from the rock using a tooth brush and siphon the sand ? Or wait it out and let it die off ?
