Diatoms and lights out questions.

Losing the battle.
25 gallon Aio. 6 months into the tank.
Overgrowing coral, gonna do 3 days lights out.
Sps, lps, softies, fish, shrimp, hermits, snails, copepods.
Dose All for Reef, and Phyto

Questions...
Scrape all off the rock work now or let it die? Same with glass.
Does 3 days lights out actually work?

Other than this, the tank is fantastic. Not my 1st nano, but is my 1st massive diatoms outbreak.
All new rock. (which probably hurt more than helped). Other tanks I've did were all live rock.
Can't turn the flows up, both tunze are set at 6 and push waves to lip of tank. If I go lower, they just blow sand.

Flow in a 25 gal lagoon = dual tunze 6040, IM return pump set on pulse 2.5 (dual)
Good RODI ato water
Skimmer running
More frequent water changes
More frequent filter floss changes
Less feeding
Problem with less feeding is, I have a few very tiny fish. Tiny bellies.
Anything I missed?

Have you considered that dinoflagellates not diatoms are growing all over?

Have you considered that dinoflagellates not diatoms are growing all over?

I have not and I am really afraid you may be correct.
More testing in my future and a whole lot of work if this is the case.
Now I'm Paranoid.
