Good evening all. I am in a Facebook group for Dino identification. They helped me out with the initial problem and now I have not gotten a response about a new problem so I want to see if anyone here has any idea.

I started sith LCA treated with liquid glass to add silicate and promote a diatom bloom. After a week or so the water became very cloudy, turbid even during the day and would clear up at night. Like I can't see the back of the tank during the day. It is a white cloudiness mid day and seems almost brown later in the afternoon. I took a sample and looked at it under the microscope. I will attach a picture. It doesn't move and the Clear area around the yellow. Enter of the cell is almost peanut or hourglass shaped. What is this and how do I clear it up?

Well I'm going to try to figure out how to post a picture lol

Here is the picture and video

What does the tank look like. The one in the bottom right might be but the other in the middle is a diatom. Your better off uploading the video to YouTube and posting the link as most use a mobile device to view the forums.

I have never uploaded a video to YouTube. The tank is very cloudy and you can see a swirling in the water.

The cell in the middle is a diatom? Really? Well that's good to know I guess then I just stop dosing and should be good. It's possible it's just totally over run with diatoms now

Liquid glass to add silicate to the water to promote diatoms to out compete the LCA which seems to have worked

I dont see this image as dino. Please also post a pic or two of your tank under bright white light intensity

I will post that tomorrow. The tank has started clearing up for the night at this point
When light go out, often diatoms and even dino will seems to have gone away to come back twofold when lights are on a couple of hours as they are photosynthetic

Do diatoms populate the water? I thought they were mostly on surfaces? Whatever this is is in the water

Diatoms cling to most any surface and can be suspended as well as detritus being suspended and often confused with diatoms

Picture of tank. You can't see it because it's not a video but the cloudiness swirls in front of the wave Maker And it gets darker and more dense as the day goes on then clears up at night

What does the tank look like today?

I put in a uv sterilizer. That helped a lot. I backed off the silicate, that worked some too. Then the dinos started taking hold again. I'm dosing silicate again now
