Diatoms, ciano or others?

Hi guys, i have got some of those algae, under blue light are black and tought could be ciano but under whites it is as in photo. It goes away for the mopst part at night.

for you guys is diatoms, ciano or could be something else?

Its hard to be certain without a microscope. But you defiantly have cyano, I would guess that the more brown alge is diatoms since they don't really have strings or bubbles. My recommendation to you would be to get a super cheap microscope to confirm.

How old is the tank?

This is what I have and it does the job.
 
Can't see a powerhead in the picture but I'd add one or dial it up and get things moving around a bit make it a little harder for stuff (cyano, diatoms, food, etc) to settle.. see what affect that has...

there is a powerhead (mlw-5 at 100%) and the 2 return pump nozzle are also quite strong. i tought about flow but i am really struggling to get the water flow all around properly i think. Not really sure about that, tought about adding a second one but i think it going to be overkill and useless.

i'll get a microscope, i've got a digital one for soldering but not rly usefull. The tank is fairly new, it got started in july and started to be populated in august.
