New to the hobby and started the tank beginning of the year. Being new I let my phosphates zero out and developed dino's (the kind that stay in sand not go into water column). So after getting nitrate and phosphates off zero with dosing, I also began dosing Sponge Excel about 2/3 weeks ago. I test with the Salifert kit but its always zero (will be testing tap water later to make sure tests are good). Anyway after being able to get a sample off the glass I put it under a microscope. Looking to confirm if these are the Diatoms that will save me from the dino's. Thanks.
