Are diatoms inevitable in a new tank set up. I have my Phosphates 0.25 Nitrates 5ppm. And still everyday tank gets browner and browner. I even use phosguard. Or do I just need to let it run it’s course.

Yes, inevitable.
Are you using rodi? How old is your new tank?

diatoms dont eat phosphate, they eat silica, which is normally introduced with new sand. The good news is that diatoms stage passes fairly quickly, on its own without having to do anything.

Is the light being on 12 hrs a day for corals contributing to the diatoms growth
