Hi Everyone,
Thanks in advance for helping out, but I need some help ID’ing the algae growth in my tank. A couple of pieces of information that you all might find helpful is below;
- New tank: 45 days old
- Drop in PH since the outbreak (~8.0 pre and ~ 7.6 post)
- Alkalinity: 6.72
- Calcium: 380
- Magnesium: 1400
- Nitrate: 8
- Phosphate: 0
2 clownfish
6 hermit crabs
2 Trochus snail
5 Nassarius Snails
1 Birdsnest
1 candy cane
1 Xenia
1 Hammer
1 GSP
light schedule is Dimitry from AI Signature series (I am running 2 Hydra 26)
2 powerheads
RSK 300 skimmer
Using RODI w/ 0 TDS
Main concern here is that most assume it is diatoms and state that the best option is to leave it alone and let it run its course. The stringiness and bubbles (see video) makes me think it is Dino in which people state that I need to address it ASAP. Im conflicted as I don’t want to wait if it is indeed Dino, but I also don’t want to treat the tank if it is only diatoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
