Diatoms or no?

Tank is currently cycling and I’ve began getting a sporadic brown growth across the sandbed and the dry rock. Does this look like diatoms? I’ve also noticed tiny little air bubbles circulating through the tank. I’m certain it’s not coming from the sump as I’ve already checked it thoroughly to be sure. Is this a normal part of the process?
