Diatoms/Ugly stage

If it is dinos, microscopic ID is really helpful since different species require different treatments. Going away at night suggest a species that goes in to the water column at night making them susceptable to UV. Keep your NO3 and PO4 up and consider getting a cheap UV unit like a Jaebo.
I purchased the AA Aquarium Green Killing machine, hoping it’ll do the trick. I’ve had the lights off all day. The filter pads have remained white and the algae has reduced. I kicked on the lights to check things out, water is kind of cloudy and there are little filaments sticking out of various areas on the sand and some on the rocks. Tried to get some pics

Those look like spaghetti worms....good guys. If they are there should be multiple filaments coming out of the same spot. They also should move independently of the flow.

i had a green film algae issue on a deep blue 60 rimless frag tank, sterilizer, purigen, chemipure elite, and a huge bio section in a custom filter system (homebuilt). water tests never showed any issues. problem ended up being my stinginess in buying the light, upgraded to the current orbit and problem disappeared with the next turkey baster treatment.

I’ve got two AI primes on this thing so lights definitely shouldn’t be an issue

They only move with the flow, I reached In with tweezers and pulled on a small cluster and it pulled up and remained intact. Was a few brown hairs attached to one small grain of sand

Edited the photos so the algae can be seen better. In the last pic, you can see some fuzzy brown growth and a small wad of clear snot. It’s since gone since I turned the lights off. Im running the lights until lights out today to see what happens

The strange thin is my Chaeto is dying off?
I don't understand this?

The large patch on the right was twice as large a week ago, the dark small patch to the left is a fresh ball from AB I put in the sump yesterday.

The rest is GHA

Pretty sure its just GHA

My apologies to Dustinryan2010. I did not help you out at all but now feel as if I am jacking your thread.
Was not my intention just sharing my tank.

No worries at all! I’m still trying to get my stuff under control. Hooked up a UV sterilizer yesterday and have been keeping all lights off. Hoping it helps. Yours does look similar to GHA but it’s very white in color, I’m assuming whatever it is, starved and outcompeted your chaeto though. I would personally try hydrogen peroxide. That’s also my next step if I can’t get this under control naturally

hydrogen peroxide?
What does that do kill off "algae" I presume, but without harming livestock I hope.
