Are these diotoms

it's hard to tell from the picture, it almost has a reddish tinge to it - is it brown or red? they are actually called diatoms

I just added some fish today. They are the first ones

It brown and i just added my first fish today

if it's brown, then I'd say yes, it is diatoms....it should go away on its own once the silicates are taken up

Just part of the process. They will go away (and probably come back again a time or two) in a little while.
