But my guess is some type of cyano or dino or both with some diatoms possibly in the mix. Microscope would tell you for sure.

Not necessarily. I've seen cyano greatly reduce itself to completely disappearing over night.

There's several types of cyano

This is a new tank. Started at Christmas. It doesn't blow off like cyano. It could be though. Hopefully it will go away soon.
