I've been cycling for about 17 days give or take some days and that's all I see i was thinking i see some on my sand but i didn't see anyMost likely diatoms if the tank is less then a month old. Not all tanks develop a lot of diatoms, my newer tank almost a month old had significant diatoms for about 4 days now they are almost gone.
Right now my ammonia is at 0ppm but my nitrite is still alil high but not to much tho. And I have some pukani reef saver 3 or 4 pieces of tonga branches and that other dry rock that brs sells. But thinks cus I was wondering what it was on my rock.Could just be light and/or shadows. You mentioned 17 days so assuming based on that and image this is a new tank and what are the base test reading for Ammonia and Nitrite? I'm not going to be one to guess but I'd say if you are cycling and depending on what stage you are in you more than likely will come across some form of diatom bloom. I can tell you from personal experience all tanks are different and that I'm around 2 months into my 210 gallon upgrade that is cycling with 150 lbs of dry Pukani. I've seen similar shadows on my rock but not sand. I don't think they are diatoms based on my past tanks(s) patterns and depth of coverage. Usually when a diatom bloom hits it is noticeable and on both rocks and sand.
Ok thanksI’d wait for the CUC seeing as you have very very little algae for them to clean up at this point.
Don’t add anything until nitrite comes down.Ok thanks
