I’ve been struggling with what appears to be a diatom bloom. Tanks been up and running since February, so it’s not a cycle bloom. Been dosing Dr. Time Waste Away for about a week with no success. Done water changes, did a 3 day blackout and it came right back. Parameters are...
Nitrate 5ppm
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Phosphate 0.1
Salinity 1.23
Ph 7.8

Any suggestions as to what is going on or how to fix it? Appreciate it

Are you using RODI water and if so how recently have you changed out the filter media of the rodi

Your tank has been up and running since February? What’s your filtration? What do you have stocked? What do you feed?

check your TDS readings on your rodi.

Checked my TDS, it’s ranging 7-9ppm, ordered new filters for RODI unit should be here on Friday.. Hoping that’s the problem

Yea it will certainly help. If you make a build thread it will help people better understand your issues. The TDS is for sure an issue but it’s very likely there other issues that will appear after the tds is managed. This isn’t a fix all solution but will help you navigate the next phase
