So I have what I think is dictyota. It’s extremely difficult to remove by hand. None of my critters want to touch it. Anyone know how to get rid of this stuff?

My 2 spot bristle tooth doesn’t touch it. I have a pincushion that hasn’t made a dent in it.

Same issue with Dictyota, my purple tang, urchin, blue leg, snails doesnt touch it.
what are the option?

emeral crab, sea hare?

I am having the same issue. I had a sea hare that would keep it under control but he kept getting stuck in my fans. I no longer have a sea hare. But definitely need something new that will eat it.

I ended up taking my rock out and scrubbing it with peroxide to kill all that stuff. It sucked but once I was done it never came back.

Did this affect the microbial life in the tank? I run a AIO system and would be worried about killing all the bacteria on the rock and setting things outta whack.

It didn’t bother my tank at all. I run a mostly sps tank and there weren’t any issues.i did make sure to keep the rock wet and I rinsed it in old saltwater before I re added it back.
