I just sent up my first 20g sump for a 40b with a litereef overflow box that was on sale at LFS.

It looks like overflow box is struggling to fill up. Using 1inch tubing for drain and 0.75 inch for return. I am using a fluval sp2 pump rated for 950 gph. Water level stable in the sump.

Did I set things up wrong, buy the wrong things, or need to do adjustment? Is return flow not enough? Do I need to increase return tubing to 1 inch?

Thanks in advance

Full picture of overflow without blues? Looks to be ok from what I can tell by the picture, it’s not going to get any fuller than the height of that stand pipe

OK thank you, wasn’t sure because inner box side only about 60% full. Didn’t know if that was normal.

That’s normal, they are nice overflows I had one years ago.. just make sure you push enough water through it to prevent any air pockets from forming in the U tube.
