Really kicking myself because I tried to join the QT club. I bought a yellow tang and diamond goby and proceded with TTM in 10g (1st mistake). No real issues with 4 moves.
Short version: After 21 day qt I introduced yellow tan to display with ich (wishing lympho). Removed after 2 minutes.
What is the chance I didn't introduce ich to my DT? Addition information: I was in day 7 of using H2O2 in DT twice a day for cyano. It's working, but I read anecdotally that H2O2 has an adverse affect on ich. So far, no noticeable trouble in DT
Long version:
With no sign of disease, I started first dose of cupramine. I have the seachem test kit and was prepared to do second dose after 48 hours. I used one of the 10g tanks along with a Tidal 55 hob filter and airlifter for additional O2.
Day 2: Tang breathing heavy on it's side. Touching and/or poking didn't cause him to swim at all. I thought he was a goner, but I quickly set up a 40b that I was planning to use after copper treatment. When I came home from work, he was vertical again, but still weak. The 40b initially had a skimmer and powerhead, so good O2 exchange.
Day 3: Tang is better and eating. At the time, I thought issue was lack of O2, but realize it may have been high ammonia. I didn't have an alert badge and 10g is way too small.
Day 4: Started General Cure after seeing flashing/jerking
Day 8: No noticeable sign of disease, so after water change it was time for Pprazipro.
Day 12. No signse of disease or erratco behavior. Water change with 20g from DT.
DT is 125g with 29g tall sump. Fish are 6 inch blue throat trigger and bonded pair of black/white ocellaris clowns. There are 2 peppermint shrimp, numerous hermit crabs/snails, macroalgae and sponges. No coral.
Day 13 (post cupramine) Day 21 overall: Ttansferred tang to display. I immediately see awhat appears to be ich on fish!!! It took me about 2 minutes to catch the tang and pit him back in QT. Tang is now in day 2 of therapuetic level cupramine. QT is now lit (mistake 2+) for better observation.
