So I've had a green hair algae problem on the side of my tank that receives a lot of sunlight. I tried Flux RX to no success, bought an Algae Blenny (still a little early to see whether or not he'll solve it), and was going to buy some Vibrant. Before buying Vibrant, I heard about dipping in 3% hydrogen peroxide for 2 minutes. Now I don't know if there were certain coral types that were excluded from this list but I tried it on a couple of favias and a zoa. There was a significant amount of bubbling which I expected but now both favias look very dull, have a stringy material coming off of them, and still have some tiny bubbles on them (after rinsing in tank water). This all just went down about 5 hours ago so I'm probably jumping the gun a little bit.

P.S.- I know the photos are terrible

They’ll be fine I do peroxide dip every frag I get from unknown sources. Did you do 100% peroxide or did you dilute it with tank water? Either way just keep them with good flow to get the slime off and you’re good in a couple days they’ll be back to normal

You dilute that 3% H2O2 before use, not straight 3% dip. I put whatever I'm dipping in a container with tank water and slowly add H2O2 until I see bubbles/fizzles.

So if you think the light from window is causing the algae then may I suggest that you put,,,, peel n stick window tint,, I used it and worked great, I used to have my tank between 2 windows so I tinted the back and both sides. Only 12 dollars at Walmart
